SUNY Ulster Offers Grant Writing for Non-Profit Fundraising and Bookkeeping Courses

 

February 7, 2020 – Kingston, NY – The SUNY Ulster Office of Continuing and Professional Education is offering grant writing and bookkeeping courses at the Kingston Center of SUNY Ulster located at 94 Mary’s Avenue.

 

Grant Writing for Effective Non-Profit Fundraising

This course introduces students to best practices for foundation grant writing. Each student will write a grant application, including need statements, goals, step-by-step action plans, assessments, and budget documents. Students will learn to write clearly and with impact.

Margot Becker, who has successfully raised funds for non-profit organizations in both the United States and abroad for thirty years, will teach the class.

Dates: 02/18/2020 – 03/24/2020

Days: Tuesdays

Time: 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Note: 02/25/2020 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

Fee: $399

 

Bookkeeping Series

            This course is designed for those that wish to gain an entry-level position as a bookkeeper. Each participant who completes all three courses, while meeting class requirements, will receive a Certificate of Completion.

The instructor for this course will be Dan Boice, MBA. He has worked in the fields of Accounting, Financing and Operations, as well as 35 years as a tax preparer.

            03/17/2020 – 04/07/2020 Bookkeeping the Easy Way with QuickBooks, $199

            04/14/2020 – 04/21/2020 Introduction to Excel, $59
